Elanthai also called as Ilanthai in Tamil is a small tree having sweet fruits and small leaves of nearly round shape. It is having small thorns to protect its fruits and leaves. Its leaves are collected, dried well and ground into powder. As it is having lot of fibers in the leaf, it is having fibrous texture and the powder is not so fine. It is being used by our ancestors for uterus related problems long long ago.
