Pappali is a small tree having big leaves with long stems, weak root stems, usually grown in home gardens for its nutrients rich fruits. Its leaves also being used by our ancestor for various purpose. Only, its leaves are collected, dried well, and ground into very fine powder. It is then ground into very fine powder. 

It is called as Pappaya in English, Papita in Hindi, Pappaya in almost all other Indian Languages. Its called as Madhu Karkati in Sanskrit because of its honey like fruit essence. Its Botanical Name is Carica Pappaya.
