Karumboola also called as Pula, Pulanji, Kattu Keelanelli in Tamil is a climbing or straggling shrub grows upto 5 - 10 feet, having simple and alternate leaves of length 1-2 cm, having pink flowers and small pepper sized fruit of dark violet colour. As it belongs to Phyllanthus family, the fruits looks like a small Arunelli. Its leaves are being used by our people along with Neeli Avuri, Henna Leaves as a Hair Colouring Ingredient. Its leaves are dried well, ground into very fine powder, and then filtered to make it free from unground particles and made available online.

It is also called as Potato Push in English, Kalemadhkaper, Panjoli or Panjuli in Hindi, Kambhoji in Sanskrit. Its names in other languages are unknown based on reliable ancient texts. Its Botanical Name is Phyllanthus Reticulatus. It should not be confused with Neerpula which is also plant belonging to Phyllanthus Family.
