Thanneer Vittan Kilangu also called as Asparagus in English is a fleshy roots of a plant, when dried it become like a white sticks with a small fibre inside that roots. It is dried well and ground into very fine powder and then filtered to make it free from unground particles.. Its botanical name is Asparagus Racemosus. These roots were being used by our people since ancient days for various Siddha and Ayurveda Purposes.

It is called as Shatavari Roots, Bojhidan, Adharvela, Jhirna, Musli in Hindi, Challa, Challagaddalu in Telugu, Aheruballi, Ashadhi in Kannada, Karalakam or Chatavali in Mayalayalam, Wild Asparagus in English. Its Botanical name is Asparagus Racemosus.
