Kalyana Murungai or Indian Coral Tree is a big tree that grows all over in India as a natural fencing. It is also called as Mul Murungai in Tamil because it is having sharp thorns all over the tree, so that no one can climb up on the tree. Its Leaves are collected, dried well, ground into very fine powder. It is then filtered to make it free from unground particles. It is being used by our people since ancient years.

It is called as Kalyana Murungai or Mulmurungai in Tamil, Indian Coral Tree in English, Pangara or Mandar in Hindi, Kimshuka or Mandalya in Sanskrit, Kalyana Murukka in Malayalam, Paravalada Mara in Kannada, Badisapu in Telugu.
